AnthologyHouse : : The Mary Bridge Festival of Trees

Alyse Hufford

With the holidays upon us and in the true spirit of giving, we have to share a story with you about one of our customers.  In October, we were contacted by Sarah Bryant Wilcoxen about our beloved Hollywood Regency Brass Bar Cart that was for sale on Etsy.  Sarah was not only interested in purchasing the bar cart, but several glam barware pieces to accompany the cart for an upcoming charity event she was participating in for the Mary Bridge Children's Hospital.

Sarah explained she was a designer for the Festival of Trees, an annual fundraising event that is attended by more than 12,000 community members.  For the past 26 years, funds raised at the Festival of Trees have provided a new helipad, a state of the art Emergency Department, pediatric ventilators, infant warmers, and other life saving equipment.  In 2012, they raised nearly $1.7 Million for the hospital.

When she explained why she got involved in the event and that the proceeds would benefit the children of Mary Bridge, we couldn't refuse the offer to help.  We were thrilled our pieces would be auctioned off for a good cause.

Sarah, tell us a little bit about the Mary Bridge Festival of Trees event and how you got involved.

I have been designing trees for the Mary Bridge Festival of Trees for 8 years now.  I got in to it after doing a promotion as a Seahawks Sea Gal Cheerleader at the Gala for several years.  I have always admired the designs at the Festival of Trees and wanted to be a part of something that was helping such a great cause.  Each year I get to come up with my own design and after the Great Gatsby movie came out this last Spring, I was so inspired with the gold and black from the movie and just knew I had to do a Gatsby tree.

How much did your tree raise?  Did participants have any favorite pieces?

My tree helped raise $4,500 for Mary Bridge Children's Hospital.  Everyone LOVED the Hollywood Regency Brass Bar Cart.  The vintage ice bucket was also a favorite.

How did you discover AnthologyHouse?

I found AnthologyHouse on Etsy while I was searching for a Vintage Brass Bar Cart. I was so excited when I found the perfect one and not only were you local, in Seattle, but you also had several other items that were perfect for my tree's theme!  The vintage brass coasters and regency ice bucket were the perfect accents on the brass bar cart.  And the vintage Greek key glasses looked fabulous lined up next to the liquors.

Thank you so much for supporting this great cause and I look forward to purchasing from your store again!

Thank you Sarah for sharing your beautiful photos and telling us all about this great cause for Mary Bridge.  We would love to participate again!

Happy Holidays!
