This past week I had the opportunity to glam up a bar area in a client's kitchen. And since Christmas is around the corner, I knew I had to incorporate a little holiday whimsy into her space while retaining the glamour of her newly remodeled kitchen featuring white cabinets, carrara marble countertops, grey washed wide plank floors, and chrome hardware. Her kitchen opens onto a newly remodeled family/tv room that will soon showcase furniture, a throw rug, and a bookcase/media center featuring blues, white, and grey. I knew I wanted to incorporate these colors in her bar area so everything flowed.
I started with a staple - the mirrored tray from West Elm. From here I shopped for some vintage pieces and found a great lucite ice bucket, martini book, and cocktail accessories including a glass cut decanter.
My client's husband requested some high balls and I scored some vintage Libby glasses in a plaid cut glass pattern. To tie in the blues, I found some beautiful crystal cut glasses at Anthropologie. And for my client's daughter, I threw in some blue rock candy swizzle sticks.
And because I think every room needs a hint of gilt, I added this adorable gold ram ornament from West Elm.
