In the Shop : White + Gold

Alyse Hufford

The holidays are upon us and it's time to glam up the home with hints of white + gold.  I just listed some white + gold vintage statement pieces in the shop that are staples for any well dressed home.  And remember you don't have to stow these pieces away after the holidays.  You can continue to dress up the bar cart or nesting tables with accessories as the seasons change. white-and-gold

And for the month of November, if you live in the Seattle area and would like to purchase one of these pieces for your home, I'll personally deliver and style (using your accessories) your new purchase for free.

The New Alial Fital Headquarters

About a month ago I had the opportunity to meet with a potential buyer about a bar cart I had for sale.  After further conversation, I realized we both had a shared passion for vintage home furnishings and decor and jumped at the chance to show him the rest of the pieces I had available in the shop.  Luckily for me, this buyer was Gibran Hamdan, a clothing designer and former NFL player who was looking for vintage furniture for his new Alial Fital headquarters and showroom where he designs and sells limited edition American made luxury menswear.

I asked Gibran about how he became the CEO and Creative Designer of Alial Fital.  It's inspirational to hear how he left his former football career behind to follow his passion and teach himself how to sew.  He launched his new clothing line in 2011 and after gaining admirers from pro golfers (he became a sponsor of the PGA Pro Tour) and professional sports players who wanted quality yet stylish clothing, he knew he had to expand his operations and open a showroom in Seattle.

Gibran shared these pictures with me from his showroom opening on October 9th.   And I am happy to see pieces he purchased from AnthologyHouse featured in his new headquarters in Phinney Ridge.  The addition of the bar cart to the showroom is so stylish and glam.

And I love how Gibran paired the gilt rope table base he purchased from AnthologyHouse with a new marble table top.  Beautiful!

Alyse Hufford

1.  2.  3.  4.  5.

With Fall upon us, it's time to start thinking about mixing up some Pumpkin Old Fashioned's or how about a Spiced Pear Collins?  And what better than drinking a Fall themed cocktail in a beautiful vintage glass.  I've got a number of vintage mid-century modern barware available for sale that are looking for their perfect cocktail mate.  In the AnthologyHouse shops on Chairish & Etsy.

Restyling My Best Friend's Pad

Alyse Hufford

My best friend has gone through some major life changes over the past year and was ready for a home revamp.  Having recently gone through a divorce, landing a new job and traveling tons for work, she was tired of living in the past and was ready for a fresh start. My friend is one of the most stylish, independent ladies I know and has always taken so much pride in her home.  To see her living out of boxes over the past year has been hard to watch. The least I could do was help her get her feet back on the ground as she set out to find a new home and reclaim her old neighborhood.  It was time to get her place together - and decorate it the way SHE wanted.

So in 48 hours we hit thrift shops, estate sales, and flea markets and scored some amazing pieces.  Working with only two pieces of furniture that she got from HIM, we had a completely blank canvas to work with.  And boy was it fun!

Vintage Whippet Brass Cane// Vintage Chinoiserie Table Lamp //Vintage Ice Bucket

Every girl needs a bar cart.  We picked up this beauty and immediately got to stylin' and celebrating with some vodka watermelon + mint + ginger cocktails.  Yum!

All pieces are vintage except for the Jackalope jewelry holder from Imm Living.

Paper Straws from Target

We picked up these vintage cane chairs at the last minute and luckily they fit in the back of her car.  They could not be passed up.  I'm still looking for a side table to compliment these beauties but for now, they can sit here looking pretty.

Once her grey couch arrives (it didn't get delivered in time), we plan to add some texture with Mongolian sheepskin and graphic print pillows to pull in the slate blue grey of the chinoiserie lamps.  We may swap out the rug with the West Elm Souk but for now, this pad is ready for it's first big party!

Just Listed : : Milo Baughman Brass + Glass Etagere

Alyse Hufford

I've been a BIG fan of Milo Baughman's designs for sometime and this past week, I was fortunate to discover this very glam brass plated and glass étagère designed by the one and only!  This piece is the lower half to the larger cantilever étagère that has been seen in the homes of some very stylish designers.  And it can be yours as I just listed it for sale in the Chairish shop!

Check out how you can style this beauty in your home with these inspirational style shots from Small Shop and Modfrugal.  I personally think this piece would look stellar as bar cart or use it in the office as Erika of Small Shop did to store your trade magazines, design books, and vintage ceramics.
