Vintage Barware from AnthologyHouse

Alyse Hufford

With the warmer weather upon us, it’s time to start thinking about outdoor parties and concocting some yummy cocktails.  But a cocktail is not complete unless it’s served up (on the rocks or neat) in a beautiful vintage cocktail glass.  I have some gorgeous vintage glasses, an ice bucket and cocktail shaker for sale in the shop that would be perfect for that Bourbon Mule, Sidecar, or French 75. Need some ideas of what to serve in these vintage beauties?  Below are a couple of my favorite cocktail recipes - some sweet and some just pure and simple - from some amazing lifestyle + food bloggers including Erin @ Apartment 34Eden @ Sugar and Charm, and Kiran Tarun @ Kirantarun.com.

If you have a yummy drink recipe you want to share, please drop me a line with your drink featured in your favorite vintage glass and I'll post it on Instagram.

Cheers!

Add sugar and water to pot and bring to boil. Once sugar is incorporated, take off heat. Add ginger to mixture and let seep for 2 hours. Strain mixture through fine strainer and refrigerate remaining syrup. Lasts up to one month in fridge.

Citrusy Champagne Sangria

New Pieces on Hunters Alley

Alyse Hufford

I love the Hunters Alley's tag line, 'The Hunt is On" and completely relate when shopping for quality vintage pieces.  It is a hunt when seeking out vintage and some days you walk away with nothing after digging, scouring sales, and looking for that one of a kind piece. But on a good day, you pick up some amazing pieces, walk away with a huge smile on your face, and can't wait to tell your friends what you scored. I am thrilled to share my recent finds with you that I recently posted to the Hunters Alley storefront including a vintage ram perfume bottle, mid-century red + gold glasses and much more.  Stop by and check out the latest merchandise...and stay tuned as new pieces are added to the shop each week.

Need some inspiration on how to incorporate these lovelies in your home?  Check out some of the beautiful photos below :

bookshelf

It's easy to dress up a book shelf with all white ceramics and color popping book covers. The vintage ram head perfume bottle would look stunning when displayed with other white ceramics.

Add some glamour to a Hollywood Regency office space with the Stiffel Table Lamp available in the shop.  I like how Tobi Fairley paired a pink chair and art work with this white desk.

The vintage gold branches hung above this desk at Corina Kramer's home are beautiful.  You can get the same look with the vintage syroco gold branches available in the shop.

And who doesn't love a good bar area for serving up cocktails in some of your favorite vintage barware.  The mid-century red + gold glasses featured in the shop would be perfect displayed on a gold tray on your tabletop or barcart.  Add some personality by displaying small brass figurines, a vintage decanter and lamp and you've got the perfect spot for hosting your next soiree.

Announcing AnthologyHouse on Hunters Alley

Alyse Hufford

For the past few months, I've been mulling over whether to make some changes with the shop and move to a different selling platform, where I could target design savvy buyers focused solely on vintage home décor.  Etsy has been a great way to start and grow the business but it's time for a change and I'm excited to announce my selling partnership with Hunters Alley, a One Kings Lane spin-off site dedicated to bringing design lovers an edited marketplace for home décor. On the Hunters Alley - AnthologyHouse storefront, you will find what you came to expect from the Etsy store...unique vintage home décor that I've personally shopped.  I hope you'll find these pieces will add a touch of eclectic vintage to your space as they have in my home.

And be sure to check out the Hunters Alley homepage where each week, they feature the Alley Fox Picks of the Week.  Today I am humbled to see my Vintage Pink Danish Candlesticks included in the collection.  The Fox Hunt is on!
