Shopping in Seattle with AnthologyHouse

Alyse Hufford

The other week we decided to leave the confines of our home offices to get out and enjoy a lovely Fall day in Seattle.  One of our favorite past times and what brought us together to start AnthologyHouse is our love for shopping, especially all things vintage + glam!  So we set out to visit a couple of our favorite brick and mortar stores in Seattle and began our adventure with a large cup of caffeine and wallets in hand. Our first visit was with Ludlow in the lovely neighborhood of Phinney Ridge.  We had recently become Instagram friends with Rick Rochon, Owner and Curator of Ludlow and were delighted to meet him in person.  He's a real hoot and has some great stories about all the vintage goodies and furniture he acquires.  His shop has a masculine vibe with hints of design inspiration from New England, San Francisco, and the Northwest.

Initially located on Bainbridge Island, he moved his store in early 2013 to the Greenwood Avenue location to expand his growing business.

Ludlow is a definite stop for the vintage design addict and you are destined to have some fun and great conversations with Rick.  Thanks Rick for some good laughs...we can't wait to shop and visit during the holidays.

Next on our stop was to the insanely gorgeous home furnishings and decor shop of Maison Luxe in Madison with proprietor Kelie Grosso.  Kelie, a hugely successful designer and shop owner brings much needed color and glam to Seattle homes.  She steps outside the typical Northwest vibe and brings a keen eye for quality décor in vibrant hues and textures.  Her storefront is serious eye candy and we couldn't stop the awwwwws, ohhhhs, and "I have to get that!"

Kelie's designs have been featured in many publications including House Beautiful, Domino, Rue, and Northwest Home and you can see why.  She's got impeccable style and taste and you just can't get enough of her shop.  We each picked up a few accessories including a faux python tray and quartz geode.

Our last stop was at Watson Kennedy at the Inn at the Market.  We love this shop as it's the smaller of the Ted Kennedy Watson's stores and also gives us a chance to stop at the market to pick up treats at Le Panier. Watson Kennedy has one of the largest collections of European bath care products we've seen in Seattle including some of our favorite soaps from Molton Brown.  They also feature one-of-a-kind antiques and papergoods.

Thanks again to Ludlow, Maison Luxe, and Watson Kennedy for visiting with us and letting us love all over your beautiful furniture, housewares, art, and bath and body products.  You all were so fun to meet and we truly look forward to seeing you all again soon!
