One of my favorite mid-century ceramic artists is Waylande Gregory, known for creating sculptures such as the The Fountain of the Atom, and porcelain wares that were sold at high-end retailers in the 1940's-1950's. His talents were adored by many prominent collectors including Albert Einstein, Charles Lindbergh, and Henry Fonda.
I have yet to acquire one of his vintage pieces as they can be quite pricey however hunting for his work is high on my treasure hunting list (along with finding a vintage Saarinen tulip table:-) but if I ever come across one, you'll be the first to hear about it. I am keeping my fingers crossed one of these days I'll be lucky enough to discover one of his lamps...like the Phoenix lamp base below, currently listed on 1stdibs. It's amazing!
The new pillow collection is fabulous! The embroidered tiger is my favorite.
And here's another pair of his vintage lamps from the 1950's. What a score!
